WICHITA, Kan. – Whatever the inflation task, the new Inflate-All™ QuickPump™ device from Coleman has the right amount of air power to do the job fast. In a matter of minutes, the Coleman® Inflate-All pump can inflate anything from airbeds to car tires. Portable and versatile, the pump features dual high-volume and high-pressure capabilities built into one compact unit.

Unlike some of its competitors, the convenient Coleman Inflate-All pump is a single integrated unit, rather than separate pieces packaged together. Conveniently powered by hooking it up to a vehicle’s standard 12-volt adapter, the Inflate-All pump is fast and powerful. Its high-volume side puts out 25 percent more airflow than the leading competitor and can inflate a queen-size Coleman QuickBed™ airbed in approximately 90 seconds.

The high-volume side can inflate and deflate a variety of products such as airbeds, boats, swimming pools and beach balls. The flexible plastic hose attached to this side can be used with Coleman’s exclusive Double Lock™ valves, as well as with Boston-style and many other standard inflatable valves. An additional pinch valve attachment is secured to the end of the hose so it is easy to find when needed.

The high-pressure side also compares favorably with the competition. Similar to an air compressor, this side of the Inflate-All pump can be used to inflate such items as tires and sports balls. Rated for 160 psi*, it can inflate a standard car tire in less than four minutes. The high-pressure hose features a screw-on nozzle, which provides a more secure fit than traditional clamp-on styles. Additional adapters are provided for needle valves, pinch valves and balloons. A compartment on the side of the pump provides handy storage for the coiled hose and extra adapters.

The 14-foot power cord is extra long for easy maneuverability and can be stored neatly inside the pump’s housing when not in use.

Items such as car tires, bicycle tires and sports balls are all high-pressure products, meaning they require a high amount of force per area to be fully inflated. In the United States, this force is measured using psi, or pounds per square inch. Most high-pressure products range from 8 to 120 psi. For example, a basketball requires 8 psi to be inflated properly, while a car tire requires 40 psi.

The Coleman Inflate-All pump’s 160-psi rating is sufficient for filling all standard inflatable items and does not indicate the speed with which these items are inflated. (See below for some examples of inflation times.) Higher psi ratings on competitive pumps and compressors do not necessarily translate into faster inflation times; instead, the speed with which a pump can inflate an item depends upon the design of the pump, as well as its combined output of pressure and airflow.

In addition, the type of valve a product has can significantly affect inflation time. For example, an airbed with a pinch valve takes much longer to inflate than an airbed with a larger opening, such as Coleman’s exclusive Double Lock valve.

With seven models of air pumps powered by a variety of sources, the Coleman line has a pump to suit anyone’s needs or pocketbook. In addition to the new Inflate-All pump, Coleman’s line includes the following pumps, all of which come with adapters to fit a variety of valves, so that they can quickly inflate or deflate many high-volume inflatable items such as airbeds, swimming pools, boats, beach balls and toys.

Electric QuickPump

New this year is the Electric QuickPump model, which receives its power via a standard household 120-volt outlet. This pump produces 15 percent more airflow than its leading 120-volt competitor, and generates the most airflow and fastest inflation times of all of Coleman’s high-volume pumps. It can inflate a queen-size Coleman airbed in a little more than a minute.

The Electric QuickPump air pump features a rounded, ergonomic design and integrated handle. It can be used with all standard valves including Coleman Double Lock valves, Boston-style valves and pinch valves. Available in January 2003, it will retail for a suggested price of $22.

Car Adapter QuickPump

Rechargeable QuickPump

Coleman’s convenient Rechargeable QuickPump air pump can be charged at home, and then used at home or away. It is fast, capable of inflating a queen-size Coleman airbed in less than two minutes. When fully charged, the Rechargeable QuickPump has sufficient power to inflate and deflate eight or more Coleman queen airbeds. The pump can be fully recharged in 10 hours using the 120-volt power adapter that comes with it.

A second version of the Rechargeable QuickPump is available with a flexible plastic hose for even easier inflation and deflation of multi-chamber items such as beds and boats.

Both of the Rechargeable QuickPump models retail for $30.

4D Battery QuickPump

The 4D QuickPump model is small and portable, convenient for trips or for use at home. Powered by four D-cell batteries, it eliminates the need to be near a household or vehicle power source. The 4D QuickPump model can inflate a queen-size airbed in just under three minutes, and – with four fresh alkaline batteries – is capable of inflating and deflating six or more Coleman queen airbeds.

For use only with airbeds, it can accommodate Double Lock valves and Boston-style valves. Suggested retail price is $20.

Dual Action QuickPump (Manual)

The Dual Action QuickPump model is a manual pump that provides airflow on both the upward and downward stroke. Inflation times vary depending on the speed with which one operates the pump. This manual pump can be used for inflating and deflating a variety of inflatable products, and comes with adapters for all standard valves.

The Dual Action pump has a flexible plastic hose for easy reach when inflating products such as boats or beds. Suggested retail price is $10.
