Across Houses we find Spacek channelling Moodymann, Theo Parrish and the recent output of Galcher Lustwerk. Jams like ‘Rawl Aredo’ and ‘Waiting 4 You’ coast on smooth-as-silk four-to-the-floor house beats whose velveteen chord progressions provide an excellent foil for Spacek’s delicate, soulful vocals. While this vibe is maintained throughout Spacek’s production also becomes more playful as the record progresses - ‘Love 4 Nano’ and closer ‘Bright Eyes Rev’ are full of the breathless energy of early Floating Points.
